Short Term Missions

We believe that short-term missions can be an effective tool in helping encourage our missionary partners as well as mobilizing the church body to be engaged in the mission of reaching and equipping the nations for Christ.

Upcoming Short-term Trips:

Philippines Trip, End of November 2017 (Thanksgiving Week)
This trip is currently in the planning stages, with the goal of encouraging Sabrina Allen and the Clinton family. We will be serving at the Village orphanage. Please contact Andrew for more information.

Past Trip Reports:

Dallas Missions Trip 2017

We had a great team and a great trip to Dallas!  We didn’t have any problems traveling down and back or through the streets and highways in Dallas (well, we did have to make a couple U turns).  We were blessed with good weather the first couple days and although it was hot the last couple days, it could have been much worse in Dallas in the middle of summer.

As team leader, I had the following goals for our team:

Help with VBS (Crosspointe calls it ‘Kids Club’)

Learn about the Indian culture

Learn about Hinduism

Learn about Rachel’s ministry

Encourage and support Rachel

I think we accomplished all of these and more!

VBS was a success and the Crosspointe Indian Church really appreciated our help.  It was neat to see ‘The Church’ – Christian brothers and sisters – working together, side by side, for one purpose: to share the gospel with the kids coming to VBS.  A lot of seeds were planted in the 3 days of VBS.  1 Corinthians 3:7-9 “So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”  We planted a lot of seeds, someone else will water, and God will give the growth and change hearts.

We learned about the Indian culture and Hinduism from Rachel, Christar, our trip to a Hindu temple, and from all the Asian Indians we met in Dallas.  We realized that it is hard for even the Christian Indians to separate the Indian culture and Hinduism.  We ate a lot of Indian food and everyone in our group were good sports about trying the different dishes – some were spicy.

We visited UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) where Rachel helps Crosspointe church with Tea Room and where most of the Indian students Rachel works with go to school.  Most of these students are working on their Master’s degrees.  We also went to Rachel’s apartment, met her roommates, and saw her small living room where she has Bible Study for 10 – 12 students each week.

I know that Rachel was encouraged and felt loved by us and NorthRidge church.  She greatly appreciated the team coming down to Dallas and all the prayers and support from NorthRidge church back home.

Thank you to all who prayed for us throughout our entire trip!  To God be the Glory, Amen!
